Where in the world is Iowa

I like to tell people we are the state with the profile with a nose.  A state with a quiet and strong character.  We are farmers, yes.  But we don’t grow potatoes unless you plant them in your private garden.  We have a lot of farms that produce food for the world.  But we also like to have fun and enjoy life.  Not all of us are growers, some live in cities and suburbs commuting in heavy traffic to the office.  While others live in a small town working to keep our great economy strong. No, we may not have as much diversity as the bigger cities like our neighbors in Chicago, Minneapolis, or Kansas City. But we are rich in different cultures and traditions. We have every type of people living in our state. Starting with our heritage with the Native Indian families to Dutch settlers, as well as our Irish, Italian, and Amish cultures. Our state has grown with the inclusion of Latin Americans and Asian Americans.  The welcoming people of our state like to live the American Dream.  Work hard, play hard, and help your neighbor when they need it. This is our state!
