Adventure finding the Parks.
My youngest daughter and I started a little adventure this week. After hearing about Des Moines Parks and Rec Department challenge of 31 Parks 31 Days, we thought we would go for it. Keep in mind the contest started July 1 and ending July 31. We just started Monday, July 24th. But we are up for the challenge more than any possible rewards from the contest.
Greenwood Park -splash sculpture area.
Tuesday, July 25th. We covered 5 of the spots on the map. So far we have checked off a total of 6 locations. Pretty good for just a couple of days and a few hours of driving and playing. The Splash Sculpture was my daughter’s favorite of the day. A lot of folks enjoying picnics and nice weather to play in.
Pappajohn Sculpture Park
Everyone in Des Moines loves to come and walk around the beautiful Sculptures we have here in Des Moines. Whether to play Pokemon Go or a stroll after a lovely dinner, the folks of this town like to hang out with odd looking things towering over downtown.
Other features on the tour today included a tennis court, pond around a peaceful garden in a cemetery, and nature trail. The thing I like more about this challenge is that my daughter and I have found something to do together. And the best part it hasn’t cost me anything but the gas in my tank. The most valuable take on this adventure is the time I have spent with my kiddo and the memories I am making with her.
