The TYH Foundation works closely with Coach Mark Heggen, Ankeny School District Head Baseball Coach, in sponsoring the Tim Heggen Baseball Classic. The annual baseball tournament is held annually during Memorial Day weekend. Six area high schools baseball teams participate in the event. The underlying message of the tournament is “Play It Forward”, honoring Tim’s mission in life, to simply make a difference. A variety of rotating events has occurred during the tournament including coed metro alumnae softball games, baseball clinics for young children, long ball contest, a raffle of signed professional and collegiate sports items, and pancreatic cancer awareness. Students, teachers, parents from all school districts are welcome to participate in the events.
